Need to repair or restore an item?

Drop in for repairs of electronics, household items, bicycles, textiles, toys etc. Also for restoring items, such as knife and tool sharpening.

When?

Second Saturday of the month, 10.00 am to 12.00 noon (last items taken at 11.30am).

What to expect?

On arrival, check in with the reception desk where our meet and greet volunteers will register your item and explain the process. Sit with our repairers while they assess your item and explain the next steps. We hope you will learn something useful! Refreshments will be available for you to enjoy while you wait.

Sometimes items are not repairable.  This may be for safety reasons or because our volunteer repairers may not have the right skills, spare parts or equipment to carry out the repair.  Where possible we will direct you to an alternative repair service.  If a spare part is needed, we may be able to find out where you can buy it and then come back next month.

This is not a requirement, but to help us to plan and know what repairs to expect, please email repaircafe@kidlingtonmethodists.org.uk with a brief description of your repair and when you intend to come.

Children aged 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

How much do repairs cost?

There is no charge for repairs, but donations to cover the cost of running the repair café and the work of the church are welcome.

What we don’t do

We can’t store any items, so please be prepared to take away everything you bring, whether repaired or not.

We can’t repair items such as electric blankets and larger household items.
