Saturday 19th September : a day of fun and games for all ages with a Rainbow theme. There was a bouncy castle, side shows, crafts, face painting and lots more! Back by popular demand were Al and his owls. If you had windfall apples in your garden, you could bring some along and Kidlington Abundamce pressed them in to apple juice for you… and if that was all too energetic for you, you could sit and enjoy the live music and a cream tea. Admission was free - we were FUN raising not fundraising and we enjoyed seeing so many people there!
Nearly 70 people enjoyed this year’s Holiday @ Home event...our annual holiday club for those of more mature years! Throughout the week we enjoyed great company, great food and some great guests including the Kidlington Community Singers and our friends from Hands on Oxfordshire’s Heritage who this year took a sporting theme to take us back in time.
Another highlight of the week was our ‘Wednesday Away Day’ when nearly 50 of us boarded a coach to Staffordshire to explore the delights of Trentham Gardens near Stoke-on-Trent.
Sincere thanks to all those who made the week possible. It’s hard to believe that Holiday @ Home has now been running for seven years...but we look forward to doing it all again in 2016.
Compass, a new course on the basics of the Christian faith and how they have shaped Methodism, started on Wednesday 11 March and ran for 8 sessions.
Wherever you are on your journey of faith, it's always a good idea to check you are heading in the right direction - to check the Compass. This was a course for everyone, from the sceptic on the fringe, to those who had known Jesus all their lives. It was enjoyed and appreciated by the many people who attended.
